An early photo of Marion Davies (1897-1961) actress, producer, screenwriter and philanthropist was born in Brooklyn, New York City the youngest of six children as 'Marion Cecilia Douras' to parents Bernard J. Douras (1857-1935) and Rosa Claire Reilly (1867-1928). She began her career as a dancer with the Ziegfeld Follies before appearing in Hollywood films from 1917 to 1937.

Marion Davies had an influential relationship with newspaper tycoon, William Randolph Hearst (1863-1951) from 1917 until his death in 1951. After which she married actor, Horace G. Brown (1904-1994). She died of stomach cancer in Hollywood, California 1961 aged 64.

Those eyes! Mistress to newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst from 1917 until his death in 1951, Marion Davies was unfairly labeled a poor actress due to her supposed portrayal in "Citizen Kane." She's certainly the "bees knees" in this photo.
