    Martha Magruder Boger was born on October 28th, 1915 in Albemarle, North Carolina to Martin Augustus "Gus" Boger (1872 - 1950) and Martha Lindora Shinn (1880 - 1964). Both of her parents were born in North Carolina. Martha had five siblings: two brothers, Martin and Daniel, and three sisters, Mary, Emily, and Virginia. Martha Boger was a veteran of the United States Army. She retired after 20 years as a Major and had worked as a Physical Therapist. Martha never married and she didn't have children. She died on June 6th, 2000 in her hometown of Albemarle, North Carolina at the age of 84 years old. She is buried in Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle. See Martha M Boger: Obituary.

    ALBEMARLE - Miss Martha Magruder Boger, age 84 of 1200 Flintshire Drive, Albemarle, North Carolina 28001 died Tuesday, June 6, 2000 at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2000 at First Lutheran Church with Reverend John W. Futterer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, North Carolina. Visitation is 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, North Carolina. Miss Boger was born in Stanly County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Martin Augustus Boger and Martha Shinn Boger. A graduate of UNC-Greensboro, and a US Army veteran, she worked as a Physical Therapist for the Army. Retiring with the rank of Major, her duty station included California, Hawaii, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and Germany. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Boger Huggins and two brothers, Daniel Philip Boger and Martin A. Boger, Jr. Survivors include her sisters, Emily Boger Richards of Albemarle, North Carolina and Virginia Boger Winget of Gastonia, North Carolina. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 230 South Second Street, Albemarle, North Carolina 28001 or First Lutheran Church World Hunger Appeal, 230 South Second Street, Albemarle, North Carolina. Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle is in charge of arrangements. - The Charlotte Observer (Charlotte, North Carolina) Wednesday, June 7, 2000 on page 23.
