Marta was born in jorpeland Norway. She grew up on a farm. She was the youngest of four children. Oldest son Tor, Dagfin was the next son, then sister Soveig and youngest Marta.she grew up living in Norway during world war II. She lived on a farm and the German soldiers took over the steel factory in her small town. Marta came to the USA by herself to visit her girlfriend Doris Hanson when she was in her twenties. Before she came to the us, she worked as a midwife to help deliver the babies and helped new mother's care for their infants. Marta married William Elmer Locke and had two children Bill and Linda. Dagfin married Eva in Norway and had a son Bjorn and daughter Marit. All Marta's relatives still live in Norway. She met William Locke dancing at The eagles club in 1953 and they fell in love and married. She returned many times to visit her home land but lived the rest of her life in the USA with her husband and two children. She had 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Granddaughter Jennifer traveled with her twice to Norway and once with her mother to Norway. Her children (Bill& Linda) were able to meet their grandparents Burnhart and Dagny in Norways at Christmas 1964 before grandfather passed away in 1965. In the early 2950 she played her guitar during church services in Norway at the salvation army . she loved God and her family. In the US her and her family joined the Lutheran church. Bill & Marta also joined the Sons Of Norway club in Milwaukee. She is deeply missed by her family. We know that we will meet her again in heaven in God's time.
