    Martin Herbert Tillinger was born to Jacob Tillinger (1908 - 1997) and Mary Tillinger, born 1907. His stepmother was Johanna Kapelsohn (1906 - 1996). He had one brother and one half-brother. Martin Tillinger married twice: first on July 3, 1965 to Sheila Helene Goldfarb and the second time in 1974 in Manhattan, New York to Jane Brodwin, who died in 2010. He and Jane had two daughters. He was a member of Congregation Beth Aaron and Young Israel of Teaneck.
