Collins on October 3, 1970 in Henderson County, Texas and they later separated on January 2, 1974 in Smith County. Martin then married Sandra R. Phillips on July 6, 1974 in Smith County and they later separated on October 14, 1974. He and Judy Bills married on February 22, 1985 in Gregg County and they later separated on June 24, 1987. He had one daughter Elizabeth Ann Tanner Satanfield (1965-2005) with Wanda Earl McCleary on August 3, 1965. Martin Tanner passed away at 49 years old on December 15, 1990 in Henderson County, Texas United States. He is buried at the Athens Cemetery in Athens, Henderson County, Texas
