My uncle Marvin was my hero. He was always there for me when a lot of people weren't. I was just a scared kid and he stuck up for me and walked with me through the dark. I will never forget the first time I met him. He had just gotten out of jail and my parents had invited him over. All of us kids loved him right away. He teared up when my family asked him to come to Thanks Giving dinner. He didn't feel like he had a place in the world, but he found one with us. Him and I were inseparable. He may have gotten into a lot of trouble in his life, and he certainly died too young... but he lived his life and he was loved.
