She had siblings John William Swanson, Christina Charlotte (Swanson) Broomhead, Joseph Swanson, and Charles Edward Swanson. Mary Broomhead married John Thomas Broomhead in 1903, and died at age 36 years old on February 9, 1919 in Melbourne East.
