She married Gerald Rude on May 1, 1951, and they were married until Mary's death on January 4, 2000. She had children Julie Michelle (Rude) Christensen and Micheal Rude. Mary Rude was buried at Dorris Cemetery in Aitkin.

    Mary E. Rude AITKIN -- Mary E. Rude, 67, Aitkin, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, news, at Riverwood Health Care Center of Aitkin. She was born March 20, 1932, in Montevideo to Charles and Mary (Schmindt) Caldwell. She moved to Aitkin as a young girl and attended Aitkin schools. She graduated in 1951. She married Gerald Rude on May 1, 1951, in Aitkin. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Aitkin, Ladies Aid and the Aitkin VFW Roberts-Glad Post No. 1227 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Julie Weimer, Aitkin; a son, Michael, St. Cloud; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Cindy Johnson, Mankato, Sharon Raymond, Rochester, and Yvonne Gretschmann, Brainerd. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church of Aitkin with Pastor David Becker officiating. Burial will be in Dorris Cemetery. Friends may call at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home of Aitkin from 4-7 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and at the church one hour before services Saturday.
