Mary (Savage) Frantz of Friendsville, Garrett County, Maryland United States was born in 1933 to Leslie Earl Savage and Elsie Mae Savage. She had siblings Dorothy Riebau, Harry Newton Savage, Linda Overton, and Carolyn Friend. Mary Frantz died at age 88 years old in February 2022.

Mary, "the lunch lady" retired from Northern Garrett High School Cafeteria. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and a member of Woodmen Life, where she held many offices. For many years she participated in the Relay for Life and Hospice Walks, was a volunteer for Hospice, sitting with patients and selling raffle tickets were her specialties, she helped numerous groups with their fundraising dinners, regularly devoted to local food banks, quilted with the Addison ladies, visited nursing home residents and hospital patients to give encouragement, and transported individuals who could no longer drive. She also enjoyed babysitting her great-grandchildren before they started school. In her down time, she could be found watching the Pirates, the Steelers, and WVU sports. Mary loved traveling and visiting the Amish Community in Springs, PA.
