    Mary Vanson Lynch was born into a family of 7 in Manhattan, NY. She met Charles A. Denny and moved to several places including Cleveland, OH and Silver Lake WS. Mary had two daughters from her first marriage to Charles A Denny from Kentucky. Kathleen Mary (Friedrich) and Charlotte Ann (Henley). She was very involved in life. She loved to sing and dance. She appeared on Name That Tune in 1957 and was a big winner. She was a widow at the time, and eventually married the President of B/G Foods Inc. William Hurley from Texas. She was widowed a second time. She married Dennis Lynch and lived on Long Beach, NY until her death in 1999.

In 1915, in the year that Mary K Lynch was born, The Birth of a Nation opened in February. A silent film, it was the most ambitious film to date and is considered a classic. Three hours long, it starred Lillian Gish and was directed by D. W. Griffith. The movie was based on the book The Clansman and told the story of two families (one pro-Union and one pro-Confederate) and their relationship during the Civil War and Reconstruction. The KKK was shown as "a heroic force".

In 1937, Mary was 22 years old when on May 28th, the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge opened to cars. Taking 5 years to build, the 4,200-foot-long suspension bridge was an engineering marvel of its time - 11 men died during construction. The "international orange" color was chosen because it resisted rust and fading. To the present, it is the symbol of the City that is known throughout the world.
