  • Introduction

Mary Sue and James Kingen had two sons, David and Arthur. James Kingen sang in a gospel quartet on the radio in Memphis in 1953. I think the name of the quartet was the Nichols, but not sure. I had just moved to Memphis in 1953, also worked at Mallory Air Force Supply Depot, and I boarded with them. They lived on Cicalla St. in Memphis, right across from the Depot. Mary Sue also worked at the Depot.

Although he had received a blow to the area a couple of days previously, the connection between the blow and his appendicitis is disputed.
