"Ziggy" Wiatrowski; beloved mother of Kathleen (Charles) DiPietro, Joseph (Renee) Wiatrowski and Teresa (Marc) Balsam; grandmother of Brian, Matthew, Natalie, Timothy and Corey DiPietro, Sarah, Joseph Jr., Amy and Michael Wiatrowski and Caitlin, Tyler and Kelsie Balsam; sister of Agnes Parker and the late Jean Magera, Helen Evagues, Veronica Gates and Joseph, Walter and John Zenkovich. Friends received Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the GRIFFITH MORTUARY, INC. 5636 Brownsville Road, Broughton-Curry-South Park Twp. Funeral Prayer Friday, 9:15 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Church at 10 a.m.

At 1,454 feet (including the roof and antenna), it was the tallest building in the world until the World Trade Center's North Tower was built in 1970. (It is now the 34th tallest.) Opening at the beginning of the Great Depression, most of the offices in the Empire State Building remained unoccupied for years and the observation deck was an equal source of revenue and kept the building profitable.
