Maurice-Joseph Vauthier was born on September 7, 1865 at Avise (Aosta Valley) to Marie Célestine Milliéry and Jean-Joseph Vauthier, and had siblings Marie Adélaide Vauthier, Marie Philomène Vauthier, François Joseph Vauthier, Marie Christine Vauthier, Jean Baptiste Napoléon Vauthier, and Giovanni Battista Vauthier. They married Sabine Eléonide Vallet, and had a child Ida Vauthier. Maurice-Joseph Vauthier died at age 68 years old on October 30, 1933 at Arvier (Aosta Valley).
