Maurice and Murton (Murt and Moe) are twins and my mother's (Lucille) younger brothers by about 4 years. She used to get a quarter from her mom (Ida) on most Saturdays. She said that she could take the bus (Peoria, Illinois) and take the boys to a double feature, buy snacks, then use the transfers to ride out to the end of the line and bring two tired boys home in time for supper and bed. For 25 cents! Sometimes they would have to collect bottles for the returns to get the money themselves.
