She married Erwin Harold Schultz, and had a child Shirley Yvonne (Schultz) Eckert. Mavis Schultz died at age 96 years old on July 9, 2013 in Strathalbyn, Alexandrina Council County, SA, and was buried at Strathalbyn General Cemetery, 63 Parker Ave, in Strathalbyn, SA.

The circumstances of his death are still disputed. He did oppose Stalin as the next leader - nonetheless, Stalin won a power struggle and ruled as a Soviet dictator until his death in 1953.
