Ms. Sue (Brannon) Downey, died Saturday, May 13, 2000. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alton Bristo, Rev. Tommy Moore, Rev. Jim Hill, and Rev. Glenn Tate officiating. Burial will be in the Hartford City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6-8. Flowers will be accepted. The family will be at the home of her brother, Gil Brannon, 200 Rebecca Lane, Ozark. Ms. Downey had been a beautician for the past 22 years and was presently employed at Silhouette Hairstyles, Dothan. Ms. Downey was born Jan. 25, 1954, in Geneva County and was preceded in death by her father, Bill Brannon. She lived most of her life in Mobile. She attended Oak Park Church of God in Mobile and Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Sommer Joy Whito, Mobile; her mother, Mary Lou Gainer, Ozark; brother, Gil Brannon, Ozark; two nephews, Ronald Brannon and his wife, Marsha, Slocomb; Dusty Brannon, Ozark; three great-nieces, Morgan, Ashlan, and Devan Brannon, Slocomb; and several aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Bill White, Donnie Tate, Joe Powell, Jim Brannon, Walter Harris, and Rodney Tate.
