  • Introduction

Meredith grew up in a small town in Iowa. After Pearl Harbor, he joined the US Navy, eventually serving thirty years and retiring a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his first marriage to my mother, Mardieze Maxine (Gonser), he fathered Judy and Terry Vaughan. After their divorce he rejoind the Navy and eventually met and married Betty Jo (Carter). Their union produced three children, Michael, Tim (1962-2005) and Kimberly. Dad was a wonderful guy. I wish we could have had more time together.
