Her focus on the movement of the human body rather than formal kinds of dance helped to give rise to the modern dance movement.

In 1967, by the time she was 62 years old, between June 5th and 10th, Israeli and Egypt, Jordan, and Syria fought what came to be called the "Six-Day War".
