Introduction

Michael and I were Brick(Dragon) High School buddies. When we 17 we signed up to join the Marines and go to boot camp together. When it came time to go I went in to the Marines, and as I remember it, I may be mistaken, Michael's family talked him out of going. Sadly a year later while I was stationed at Camp Pendleton Ca,1979, I received a letter from my girlfriend that Michael had been killed by a drunk driver on the way home from work. He was a great friend, smart,tough,strong,and a smart a** to me :] . We shared many dreams and beers together. I visit him often in Wall Twnshp. I wonder what would have happened if we had gone in to the Marines as buddies that we were. I begged him to go with me,and that's the last memory I have of him before I said goodbye.
