    In our family we didn't call him Grandpa. We called him Boppa. My oldest sister Molly (his oldest grandchild) couldn't say "grandpa" it came out Boppa. And it stuck, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren later :)

We would drive past a lake or a reservoir and he'd say "Are there sorry birdies in there?! Oh I gotta get them dirty birdies!" As young kids me and my cousin's would just find it hilarious.
