Michael LeRoy Gheres, 18, 613 Water St., Warren, was pronounced dead on arrival at Warren General Hospital Saturday afternoon, Oct. 8, 1977, following a shooting incident at a camp on Brown Run, Rd., Mead Township. Born in Warren on Nov. 13, 1958, he was the son of Gerald D. Gheres, Oviedo, Fla. and David and Beverly Koza Gheres Grady of Warren. A lifelong Warren resident, he had just been discharged from the U.S. Army this past week following 11 months of service. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Edward Koza, Kane; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home Tuesday at 10:30 am with the Rev. Carl Nelson, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery, Starbrick. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. (Warren Times Observer 10/10/1977)
