I don't know where her mother was from, but I think it was the same as her father, my grandfather. That was Salerno, Italy. They emmigrated to the United States in the early 20th century, going through Ellis Island alongside millions of others seeking a new life. It's allegedly there that the original name Trinca became Tringo due to a clerk's misspelling of the name. That is according to my father Anthony who sometimes told tales to satisfiy the curiosity of young minds... and mouths (LOL).
