Mickey was my stepdad, and raised me from age 11 on. He.was the kindest, most-honorable man I've ever met in my life and I was blessed to have had him in my life. Most memorable quote from mickey was when I offered to take him on a European vacation; maybe go back to the beaches of Normandy, [he drove landing craft on D-Day]; he replied

"I DON T NEED TO GO TO EUROPE. IVE SEEN EUROPE; BEHIND THE BARREL OF A GUN! BELIEVE ME; YOU'RE ALREADY IN THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, YOU DONT NEED TO GO ANYWHERE.
