    Milton Charles Zilis was born to John Joseph Zilis (1898 - 1938) and Jewel "Julia" Ann Duffy (1903 - 1931). He had two siblings: a brother, David John Zilis (1924 - 2009) and a half-sister, Anna May Zilis (born 1922). Milton Zilis married Shir-Lee Weiss and they were married for 56 years, until his death. As a counselor at SCORE, Milton served as chairman for two years and secretary for several years. Milt gave much time to Lumen Christi Catholic Church, serving on the finance committee, as communion distributor and in conducting the Thursday morning prayer / communion service. He taught in the Milwaukee Literacy program for several years. Milt enjoyed playing golf and racquet ball, world travel with his wife, playing cards and cribbage and working puzzles. Most important to him was spending time with his family. Milt will always be remembered for his love, friendliness, quick smile and Irish wit.

    Zilis, Milton Charles Found eternal peace on August 23, 2011. Milt was the beloved husband of Shir-Lee (nee Weiss) for 56 years. He was the dear father of Susan Cooney (Jay), Kevin (Linda), Patrick (Diana) and Michael (Erin); as well as the proud grandfather of Christopher (Jennifer), Megan, Ashley, Ryan, Caitlin, Matthew and Brian, and great- grandfather of Mya. Milt was born in Chicago and received degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago. Visitation at LUMEN CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2700 West Mequon Road, Mequon, WI will be on Friday, September 2, from 10 AM to the time of the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Entombment will be private.
