Minnie was a fascinating person, she was a collector of memories and her memory never faded with age. I used to sit with her for hours on end listening to the tales of her life. Tales of her youth to tales just a year old, she told me she recalled reading a news clipping about the death of Jon "Doc" Holiday, a tale of having to travel over 2 weeks in a wagon to get to Kansas City in order to purchase a seat on a train (because that was as far west as the train went) to travel to Detroit. Watching (literally watching) Henry Ford build "that God awe full contraption" (the quadracycle) across the street in a garage. " the damned thing scared the horses for 5 blocks with all the noise it made". Her husband a Detroit Policeman coming home one day actually being required by a new department policy of having to carry a pistol. Recalling the Titantic, The whole world being at War, Meeting Al Capone, The world at War again, a man actually walking on the moon. Her life was extraordinary to the fullest.
