When Minus Mitten Goodwill was born on July 23, 1883, in Jackson, Ohio, his father, John, was 34 and his mother, Melcha, was 30. He married Nellie M King on May 25, 1908. He had one son with Nellie before she passed in 1914. He then married Gracie Molina (Ina) Smith and they had five children together. He died on February 23, 1960, in Sarahsville, Ohio, at the age of 76, and was buried in Noble, Ohio.
