Mozell Wheary, was born Mozell Robinson, born in 1921, in Raleigh, North Carolina and went by Mommy Mo, Mama Mo, or Mo by her family and most friends. After leaving N. Carolina she moved to Lenox Street in Harlem NY and later moved to Boston, Massachusetts and remained there until her death in 2003. She married Nathan Wicker and adopted his youngest sister Yvonne, out of sixteen siblings in the 194o's. She never changed her last name after their divorce. Mozell worked at B.F. Goodrich in the 60's and when the plant closed down she went to work with her cousin Bob Morgan (Public Relations/waitress) elevating his Soul Food restaurant, in the South End, called Bob The Chef's where they served and fed all of Boston and well known actors, artist, celebrities, sports figures, and politicians like football star Rosey Grier; Singer/actress Stephanie Mills, and the list goes on.
Mozell was the strength, back bone, and matriarch to all whom she called family. In the end she died alone and those whom she cared for, attended to, and loved didn't show her the same in return as she began ailing -- she was in the care of her granddaughter who's neglect was so egregious that the police report read that Mozell had expired at least two days before she was discovered to be deceased. Over all, she was the salt of the earth and a true child and servant of God.
I love and miss you Mama Mo...Thank you for your magnanimous love, gentle spirit and introducing me to God, Jesus, and the holy Spirit. God has blessed you and has a definite place for you in heaven.
Your Grandson forever and with as much love as you gave -- Petey.
