Newton Hollis Hartman Jr. was born on February 5, 1930 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania United States. He was married to Mary Lou Hartman on May 22, 1951 in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, and they were together until Newton's death on October 31, 1986 in Glen Mills, Delaware County. He had children Newton Hollis Hartman Jr., Thomas William Hartman, Carl David Hartman, and Paul Andrew Hartman. Newton Hartman was buried on November 3, 1986 at Philadelphia Memorial Park 124 Phoenixville Pike, in Frazer, Chester County.
