    Nicholas Ceasar Tedeschi is the son of Leopold Tedeschi (1874-1938) and Emma Natucci Tedeschi Bocchieri (1880-1977). He was born in Italy on December 24, 1906 and had siblings Lena (1909-1992), Ada (1914-1999), and Sam Tedeschi (1919-1978). He immigrated from Italy to New York in 1913, and he and his family then moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1920. He joined the United States military in September of 1942. Nicholas was married to Laura Tedeschi (bron 1912) and they had children together including a son named Gerald Tedeschi (1930-2007).

In 1906, in the year that Nicholas C Tedeschi was born, abolitionist and suffragette leader Susan B. Anthony died, before women's right to vote nationally was realized (in 1920). She, along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, founded the National American Woman Suffrage Association which later became the League of Women Voters. She died at the age of 86 of heart failure and pneumonia in her home in New York.
