He had half siblings Ida B. (1884-1958), Letitia (1886-1901), Gertrude J. (1892-1956), George (1896-1898) and Aldona Kathryn Dietz (1920-2004). Nicholas married Hazel Anna Wilhelmina Heins (1923-2017) on August 19th 1944 and they had two daughters and three sons including Nicholas John (1945-2021) and Mark Sylvestor Dietz (1947-2010). Nicholas was a World War 2 Veteran having served in the United States army from November 2nd 1942 until his discharge date on May 12th 1945.
