    The following appeared in The York Dispatch in York, Pennsylvania on November 29th 1996: Nicholas Justh, 72, of Monaghan Township died November 26, 1996 in Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg. Born in Newberry Township on July 01, 1924, he was the son of the late Karl and Kathrine Just Justh. Nicholas was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired as a Shop Foreman from the former Steelton & Highspire Railroad after thirty-eight years of service. Nicholas was a former West Shore School Board member. He was a member of Country & Town Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg. Nicholas was a member of the West Shore Men's Garden Club, the 16th Armored Division Association, a Charter Member of the Lewisberry Lions Club, and Past President of the Upper Allen Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife: Marjorie F. Eichelberger Justh; his daughters: Carolyn F. Maugans of Lemoyne, Marilyn K. Knox of Lewisberry, and Carol Ann Steele of Camp Hill; his sons: Brian W. of Lewisberry and the Rev. Darrel R. of Carlisle; his twelve grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; his sister: Kathryn Yinger of Lewisberry; and, his brother: William Justh of New Cumberland. The Funeral Service is at 02:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 1996 in the Country & Town Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg with his Pastor, David Patton, officiating. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In 1924, in the year that Nicholas Justh was born, in May, wealthy college students Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb kidnapped and killed 14 year old Robert Franks "in the interest of science". Leopold and Loeb thought that they were intellectually superior and that they could commit the perfect crime and not be caught. They were brought in for questioning within 8 days and quickly confessed. Clarence Darrow was hired as their defense lawyer, getting them life imprisonment instead of a death sentence. Loeb was eventually killed in prison - Leopold was released after 33 years, dying of a heart attack at age 66.
