  • Introduction

    Nickolas Anthony Cracolice was my grandfather, he was born in Sacramento and served as an Admiral in the United States Navy, stationed in his early years in Maryland where he met and married my grandmother Mary Etta Marlow "Cracolice". They eventually along with my Father, William Nickolas Cracolice, their only child relocated to San Diego in 1948 where they both lived up and until their passing. He was a proud Italian man and he had one sister Letta Carlson "Cracolice" who passed away at 102 years old in 2015 in the Lake Tahoe area. My Aunt Letta and I were very close, she was a school Psychologist and they traveled down to San Diego a few times a year where we would all spend as much time as possible on the ocean. Grandpa Nick Cracolice had a beautiful boat docked on at Mission Bay and my parents had an equally beautiful 34' boat that was docked side by side to Grandma Mary & Grandpa Nicks. We barbecued and fished and cruised the Bay and anchored off La Jolla shores every weekend and often more then that. Grandpa Nick spoke very loud, slightly over 5'5"'s he spoke as if he were shouting but he was just a loud personality. I miss him and I miss those times and often when life gets difficult I curl up on the couch and take solace in those wonderful memories, realizing how blessed I was to have such loving family experiences.
