In 1912, in the year that Nikolai Schurigyn was born, the Girl Scouts of the USA was started by Juliette Gordon Low with the help of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts in Great Britain. In 1944, by the time he was 32 years old, on December 16th, The Battle of the Bulge began in the Ardennes forest on the Western Front.
