Nola Jane, who went by "Jane" to all of her friends, was born in raised in Glenmary, Tennessee. At the age of 28 she moved to Miami, FL where she met Richard Vihlen. They were married in 1964, and lived in Homestead, FL, where they raised three children: Richard, Debra, and Jacqueline.
