Norma Graham died at age 56 years old on May 9, 1981 in Coogee, NSW, and was buried at Fawkner, in Fawkner Cemetery, Vic.New South Wales.

The ARGUS Melbourne 27 June 1945. RAAF WEDDING. HOLDAWAY - GRAHAM. A gown of magnolia satin and a tulle veil held in place with gardenias were worn by ACW Norma Doreen Graham, WAAAF, for her marriage yesterday at Trinity Church of England, Balaclava, to Sqd. Ldr. Harold William Holdaway, RAAF, only son of Mr. A. J. Holdaway, of Bondi, Sydney, N.S.W., and the late Mrs. E. P. Holdaway, Rev. H. W. Doudney officiated. The bride, who was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Graham, of Mansfield, was given away by her grandfather, Mr. R. J. Baker, and attended by Mesdames F. Jacobelli and K. Ross, Flt. Lt. Don Ashford, RAAF, was best man, and Mr. K. Ross was groomsman. Divorce Papers 24 March 1950 Norma Doreen Holdaway-Harold William Holdaway.

Loved sister of Alma Ross, loved sister of Elaine and Dick ( U.S.A. ), loved sister of Les (dec.), loved daughter of Queenie and Leslie Graham ( dec. Mansfield, Vic.) Will be sadly missed. The Sydney Morning Herald. HOLDAWAY, Norma Doreen. - May 9. 1981. At hospital, late of Coogee, dearly loved wife of Harold, loved mother of Marcelle, loved sister of Alma Ross, Richard Graham (U.S.A.) and Leslie Graham (deceased). Aged 56 years. Rest In peace. Ashes buried with her mother, at Fawkner Cemetery, Victoria.

In 1924, in the year that Norma Doreen (Graham) Holdaway was born, Macy's department store in New York held its first "Thanksgiving parade" on November 27th at 9a - during church services but leaving plenty of time to attend the big football game between Syracuse and Columbia universities. The parade was held as a way to promote the opening of the “World’s Largest Store” and its 1 million square feet of retail space in Manhattan’s Herald Square. The parade was 6 miles long and included floats, Macy's employees dressed as clowns, cowboys, and sword-wielding knights, and animals from Central Park Zoo. Santa Claus, of course, brought up the rear - opening the Christmas shopping season for Macy's.
