  • Introduction

    Norma had three children; Sarah Elizabeth, Richard Norman, and Helen Emilie. She also had six grandchildren; Thomas Benjamin Pryor, Anna Elizabeth Pryor (1988-2006), Emilie Claire Samantha Pryor, Samantha McCardell, Katherine McCardell, and Joseph McCardell. She was the daughter of the beloved Dr. and Mrs. Norman L. Woodford and one of the four Woodford girls of Union Springs, New York. The sisters grew up to be successful and beautiful. Norma married Richard C. Ziegler in her last year of college and they went on to have three chidren, while both enjoying very successful and gratifying careers. Norma was a social worker and Richard (Dick) was an administrator working in various programs for special needs young adults. His final position was with DYFS, where he began a unique for its time program to serve emotionally disturbed adolescents, who needed more care and supervision than could be provided in a foster home or group home. This program was extremely successful and many like it have been launched throughout the states. Sadly, he died in 1978 of cancer.
