BUCYRUS: Norman E. Kisor, 95, of Bucyrus died peacefully Wednesday night, August 8, 2012 at The Inn at Orchard Park where he had resided in recent years. He was born in Bucyrus March 20, 1917 to the late Rollo and Eva (Tallman) Kisor. He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1934. attending all 12 years of school in what is now the elementary school building. He met a beautiful girl named Aleta Nicholson at a dance. He loved her beauty and she, his wavy black hair. They were married May 1, 1937 and shared nearly 68 years together before her death January 8, 2005. Norm retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1973 after 38 years, the last four spent as Bucyrus Postmaster. He served in U.S. Navy's Pacific Fleet Post Office in San Francisco from 1943-1946. After retirement, he kept busy by volunteering at Bucyrus Community Hospital where he continued delivering mail, Meals on Wheels, donating gallons of blood and driving blood runs for the Red Cross and singing in the Country Gentlemen Barbershop Chorus until the 1980s. He was also a member of American Legion Post 181 in Bucyrus. Norm is survived by two children, Lynn (Charles) Hepner and Dan (Carol) Kisor, both of Bucyrus; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Nate) Roshon, Chris (Berdina) Hepner, Amy Kisor, Melissa Kisor and David (Kimberly) Kisor; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Malachi and Averie and daughter-in-law, Margaret Kisor of Cincinnati. In addition to his wife and parents, Norm was preceded in death by his son, Lee Kisor; siblings, Clare Conner, Clyde Kisor, Twila Foreman, Evelyn Kliman, James Kisor, William Kisor, infant Dortha Mae and a stillborn brother. Norm was a lifelong member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer, board chair, trustee, was a member of the Builders Class and was currently the oldest member of the church. He could be counted on for his service, always willing and able to help people and he will be remembered for being able to fix anything. He and Aleta enjoyed camping with Wayne and Alice Crum and their grandchildren and he kept fit by bicycling well into his 80s. Following his cremation, Norman's family will hold private services at Oakwood Cemetery's columbarium where he will be placed next to Aleta. Memorial donations may be given to the Crawford County Chapter of the American Red Cross through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W Warren St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820
