    1930 US Census lists Norman Francis Townsend as living in Westchester, New York, USA, at age 38. His wife, Adda Townsend is included in the household. A son, Robert S. Townsend, born in 1928, is age 2 at the time of the 1930 US Census. I do not recall the occupation of Norman F. Townsend, but will record this info. later, when I research again.

Her 63 year reign was the longest in history prior to Elizabeth II who recently broke her record. The time during which she led the country was known as the Victorian era and she presided over great changes in the United Kingdom, including the expansion of the British Empire and the Industrial Revolution.

In 1927, aviator and media darling Charles Lindbergh, age 25, made the first successful solo TransAtlantic flight. "Lucky Lindy" took off from Long Island in New York and flew to Paris, covering  3,600 statute miles and flying for 33 1⁄2-hours. His plane "The Spirit of St. Louis" was a fabric-covered, single-seat, single-engine "Ryan NYP" high-wing monoplane designed by both Lindbergh and the manufacturer's chief engineer.
