She married Leslie Morris in 1915, and had a child Thelma Beatrice Morris. Olive Morris died at age 24 years old on February 13, 1917 in Geelong, Greater Geelong City County.

Composed the previous August by Francis Bellamy, it was to be recited in 15 seconds and originally read: "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
