Olivia Irelin Hyten was born Breanna Elizabeth Belcher to Elizabeth Belcher on September 23rd, 1993. She was then adopted by Theresa Brandise Hyten. Olivia was very loved by both families.
She shared her birthday with her biological grandmother ELon LaRae Belcher. Even though we did not have contact with her, we celebrated her birthday every year.
Tragically, she lost her life in a senseless car accident November 14th, 2008. Another teenager, suspected of drinking and driving on a restricted license, was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Compounding the tragedy, her birth family was not notified of the loss for almost three years. We had waited almost 18 years to hold and kiss her again and in the weeks leading up to her 18th birthday, the day we would be able to look for her, we anticipated how we would start the search. Then two weeks prior to her birthday, we found out that all of our hopes had been crushed. The last time we saw her after her birth, was literally the last time.
During Olivias' too short life, she made a huge impact on all those around her. We have been told by many who knew her, that she was a bright shining light. The kind of person who would make you smile and help you however she could. Skateboarding was a passion of hers and she loved chips and salsa with extra salt.
Olivia, our Bre, is truly missed and loved by all.
