He was my dad.
Rev Orville Henry John Horn was my dad.
He was a hardworking, diligent man of faith that provided for his family.
We started out in the SF Bay area when in 1967 he changed careers from tech to the Lutheran ministry. and we moved to the Midwest. It was a roller coaster ride from there, as it seemed we moved about once a year or so, starting over with different schools, churches and people. He pursued his faith and career with zeal. I was having my own spiritual awakening and became more interested in the psychedelic scene that was sweeping the US and UK by storm. Hence, a collision of cultures that led to clash of philosophies, resulting in my expulsion from the family unit as a teenager. While I retained my faith in God, became disillusioned with organized religion. Hence and sadly, we parted ways. I will always love him, and cherish the times we spent fishing together, and playing chess. He was a good man. I hope to see him again one day in God's Kingdom.
