Introduction

Was a shoemaker who was deaf and mute. He had a family of a wife, Mary Allen and three children: John, Sarah, Emily(Catherine) and lived in Rehoboth, Massachusetts which is just over the line from Rhode Island. He died through misadventure with a train during a switch back between rail cars. He attempted to cross the tracks and didn't see it coming. I am making this bio for genealogy purposes. I can't find out more about him.

He might have gone to a school for the deaf but I don't know if he was born that way.
Professional Career

He was a shoemaker. I don't know if he worked for himself or in a business or mfg. with others. He may have also repaired shoes.
Personal Life & Family

Special details were that his wife sued the railway for not having by law flashing lights at the crossing. After a second trial she won a judgement for $2,000 of which I'm sure a good portion went to her lawyers.
