    Patrice (Patty) was born at St. Vincent's Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1958. Her parents were Josephine (Jay) Natalie (nee Errante) and Peter James Vallone. Jay Vallone (1928-1999) was a teacher in the Baldwin Harbor School District. Peter (1923-1994) was a corporate attorney with SM & DE Meeker, with offices at One Hanson Place in Brooklyn, NY and 364 Merrick Rd, Rockville Centre, NY. Patty's paternal grandparents were Esther (nee Grimaldi) and Salvatore Vallone. Her maternal grandparents were Celeste (nee Cusa) and Paul Parrino Errante. Paul was a pharmacist/pharmacy owner in Brooklyn, NY. Patty as raised at 3255 Bertha Drive, Baldwin Harbor, NY. Patty was married to David Samuels in 1979. Together, they share four children: Kimberly Celeste, Jason Peter, Kelly Sarah, and Laura Janine. Patty and David met as students at the College of William and Mary. David was an attorney who earned his degrees at the College of William and Mary and Ohio Northern University. While married to David, Patty focused on raising their children and supporting David's career as a law student, as a JAG officer, and as an attorney for NASA. Sadly, Patty and David were divorced after 14 years of marriage. Patty returned to school after the divorce. Patty was a graduate of St. Edward's University, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, and the University of Nebraska Medical School. Other than her children--the great loves of her life--her passion was her work as a Physician Assistant. Patty married Keith Hance in 2001.

    Patty was born in Brooklyn, NY. At 9 months of age, her parents took her to their new home at 3255 Bertha Drive, Baldwin, NY. She lived there until she went to college at age 17; first in upstate NY and then in Williamsburg, VA. After marrying David Samuels, Patty and David moved to Tustin, CA, where David began law school. After a year, he transferred to Ohio Northern University, in Ada, OH. David and Patty's first child was born while David was in law school in Ohio. After graduation from law school, David entered the Navy as a JAG officer. That position took the family to Newport, RI; Philadelphia, PA; and Groton CT. Their son was born in Philadelphia. Their second daughter was born in New London, CT. After the Navy, David took a legal position with NASA, in TX. There, their fourth child was born.

    Patty attended public school in Baldwin Harbor, NY. Her childhood was that of the idyllic suburban life--outside playing all day; coming home when the street lights came on. Her grandparents lived around the corner. Summers were punctuated by days swimming at the local "club" and by annual trips to Europe where the family spent months traveling throughout Europe and Asia. Their only guide was a book entitled "Europe on $50 a Day". Patty remembered these summers as a highlight in her life, where she enjoyed shared memories with the undivided attention of her parents. Patty remembered her beloved childhood friends all her life, particularly Steven Schreiber, Gary Berkowitz, Donna Mercurio, and Linda Melman. Patty went on to Hamilton College, transferring to the College of William and Mary after her freshman year. Following a traumatic crime, Patty left William and Mary. A year later, she married David Samuels, whom she met while they were students working on the college paper--the Flat Hat-- at William and Mary. Their life took Patty to Tustin, CA; Ada, OH; Newport, RI; Philadelphia, PA; Groton, CT; and Friendswood, TX.
