Funeral services to celebrate the life of Patricia A. Broderson, 79, a resident of Davenport will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport. The family will greet friends Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Patricia passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at her home. Patricia Ann Goode was born December 9, 1937 in Davenport, a daughter of Melvin and Grace (Golff) Goode. Growing up, Pat attended school within the Davenport School District graduating from Davenport High in 1955. Pat met the love of her life at a young age, eventually marrying this same young love Donald Roger Broderson on April 6, 1957 in Davenport. Their first child Cindy Ann was born later that same year, it was evident Pat was destined to be a Mom. Soon to follow were three more children Connie Sue, Donald Lee, and Carol Jane. Pat spent endless hours tending to both her home and her children throughout the years. It was a friendly neighborhood joke that Pat always had the cleanest children in the neighborhood. When facing Empty-Nest Syndrome, she decided it was time to do something for herself. Pat began working as the Head of Environmental Services at St. Luke’s Hospital. Pat worked tirelessly to fulfill her job requirements as she also did in her daily life. Pat retired from St Luke’s, yet upon retiring decided that idle time, led to idle hands. Pat then began working at Thompson Trailers in Davenport, IA. Pat truly retired around the age of 70. Upon retiring she realized a God given gift, her ability to create ceramics. She would spend hours creating priceless gifts for her family. She and Don enjoyed taking their old 1948 Ford Coupe to various car shows, to show off and enjoy good music and great friends. Pat enjoyed making others laugh, her ornery and spitfire personality were sure to bring anyone to laugh to tears. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Don, and their children, a son, Lee Broderson; and two daughters, Connie Herron (Dennis Sperry), and Carol Henson (Matthew Moritz); 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Pete) Pietzonka, and brothers, Wayne (Judy) Goode, and Jim Goode, and numerous loving extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cindy, a brother Donald Lee, a daughter-in-law, Molly Broderson, and two sons-in-law, Joel Henson and James Herron. May they rest in peace.
