Patrick Dalton 1856 - 1937
Patrick Dalton was born in 1856 in Glin, Limerick County Ireland to James Dalton and Mary Dalton. He married Mary (Fitzgerald) Dalton, and had children Johanna Dalton, Mary Kennelly, Ellen Fleming, Patrick Dalton, James Dalton, John Dalton, Michael Dalton, Jeremiah Dalton, Thomas Dalton, and William Dalton. Patrick Dalton died at age 80 years old on December 11, 1937 in Nar Nar Goon, Cardinia Shire County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Melbourne General Cemetery College Cres, in Parkville, City of Melbourne County.

The Advocate, Melbourne. 20th January 1938. MR. PATRICK DALTON. The friends of the late Mr. Patrick Dalton, formerly of Coventry Street, South Melbourne, will regret to learn of his death, which occurred at his residence, Nar Nar Goon, on December 11. The late Mr. Dalton, who was born in County Clare, Ireland, was 81 years of age, and arrived in Victoria 57 years ago. Some years later he entered the service of the South Melbourne City Council as assistant inspector, and later became inspector. He was appointed prosecuting officer for the council, and won respect as an efficient officer. He retired about 12 months ago, and went to Nar Nar Goon to reside. A family of three daughters; Mary ( Mrs. Kennelly ), Eileen ( Mrs. Fleming ), and Johanna - and six sons, Patrick, James, John, Michael, Jeremiah and Thomas- are left to mourn the loss of a loving and devoted father. His remains were bought from Nar Nar Goon to SS Peter and Paul's Church, South Melbourne. ( Saints Peter and Paul's Catholic Church - built 1869 )
