Patrick Duffy's parents were Lawrence Duffy and Elizabeth Grey who resided in Ballyduffy, Moyne, Co. Longford, Ireland. His grandparents were John and Ellen Duffy, Ballyduffy. Ellen was one of the Duffys of Legga. His uncle, Rev. Fr. Edward Duffy was ordained in 1902 for Wellington, New Zealand. He died there in 1920.
Patrick was ordained a priest on June 9th 1946 for Fargo diocese, ND, USA. He was appointed Assistant pastor, St. Michael's Parish, Grand Forks, ND; Pastor of St Nereus and St. Achilles parish, Neche with missions at St. Joseph, Leroy (oldest church in the diocese) and at Bathgate. He was responsible for the extensive renovation and renewal of St. Nereus and Achilles Church.
He spent his last years in retirement home in Fargo, ND. He died on December 30th 1999. May he enjoy the rewards of his labors in his heavenly home. Amen.
