    Paul Baneky is the son of Mary Sargent and John Baneky. He was born in July of 1915 (18th or the 20th) in Naugutuck, Connecticut and had brothers John and Frank as well as three sisters, Margaret, Mary, and Anna. He was a World War I Army veteran and served with Fourth Armored Division and 704th Tank Destroyer Tank Battalion at the Battle of Bulge, Mr. Baneky was awarded three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He married Wanda A. Zuchowski and they had a sons named Paul H Baneay Jr, Robert, Joseph, and Thomas. Paul worked as a truck driver for Barry Trucking Co., East Rutherford, 30 years, and retired in 1991. He was also a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church.

He was discharged from the Army on Sept 23, 1945. He was a World War I Army veteran, serving with Fourth Armored Division and 704th Tank Destroyer Tank Battalion at the Battle of Bulge, and was awarded three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He saw action in Normandy, Northern France, and Germany.

    Paul Baneky Won 3 Purple Hearts WALLINGTON -Paul Baneky Sr., 78, died Monday. Born in Naugatuk, Conn., he lived in Passaic, moving here 40 years ago. Mr. Baneky was a truck driver for Barry Trucking Co., East Rutherford, 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church. A World War I Army veteran, serving with Fourth Armored Division and 704th Tank Destroyer Tank Battalion at the Battle of Bulge, Mr. Baneky was awarded three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He saw action in Normandy, Northern France, and Germany.Mr. Baneky was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2640; Fourth Armored Division; 704th Tank Destroyer Tank Battalion Association, and Order of Purple Heart. Surviving are his wife, the former Wanda Zuchowski; four sons, Paul Jr. of Nutley, Robert of New York, Joseph of Wallington and Thomas of Clifton; two brothers, John of Milford, Conn., and Frank; three sisters, Margaret Baneky and Mary Baneky, both of Morristown and Anna Coles of California, and five grandchildren.
