Military Service

I initially enlisted in the US Army in April 1978 as a SROTC cadet at Kemper Military School&College at Boonville, Missouri. I was an MSIII cadet and we signed up for Reserve obligation. I attended the School for 1 1/2 years . In September 1979 I enlisted for the Regular Army while residing in my hometown of Detroit, Michigan. I entered the Army as an PFC/E-3 because of four years in High School JROTC and the 1 1/2 years in SROTC. I attended OSUT at Fort Benning, GA from 4 November 1979- February 7, 1980 while assigned to D-2-1 at Harmony Church.Upon graduation as the distinguished honor graduate I attended Airborne School with many of my OSUT comrades. By March 6,1980 I had graduated and was now an Infantryman and Paratrooper. From April 2,1980 to March 29,1982 I was assigned to C Company 1st Battalion Airborne 509th Infantry ABCT Vicenza, Italy. In May 1982 upon arrival at Fort Bragg,NC I was assigned to A Troop 1st Squadron Air 17th Cavalry 82nd Airborne Division as a Scout. In October 1983-December 1983 the 82nd Wasinvolved in The Grenada Invasion i.e. Operation Urgent Fury. I spent over amonth there. In February 1984 I was reassigned to A Company 1st Battalion 3rd US Infantry Regiment at Fort McNair Washington,DC. In March 1986 I was assigned to B Company 3rd US Infantry until we left in December 1986 to return to Fort Bragg for schooling. All of 1987 was spent at Bragg. In December 1987 I was reasigned to B Company 5th Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment 6th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. On December 1 1991 I left the Armyafter twelve years two moinths active duty. I spent an additional sixteen years in the Army Reserve and a year in the NC National Guard. I receive 20% VA Disability from the Military.
Professional Career

Besides being a Career soldier I have been a lifelong musician, military historian.ghost hunter, artist,linguist,reenactor and have worked in many retail,security and small businesses.
