  • Introduction

    Paul Felice was born to Joseph (Giuseppe) Felice (1897 - 1973) and Rose Marie Felice (1904 - 1966). Both parents were born in Calabria, Italy. He had siblings Carmelina June, Virginia Elizabeth, Betty Jane, and Jim Felice. Paul Felice married Assunta "Sue" DeNapoli (1929 - 1989) in April of 1945 and they had three children, two of whom were Joseph Vincent (1951 - 2002) and Paul Michael Felice (1952 - 1997). The third child was a (still living) girl. He then married Beverly J. Felice, having another daughter. In 1946, Paul partnered with his father and brother Jim and became the former president and co-owner of Felice Family Food Center. He was also involved in breeding and racing harness horses.     The following obituary appeared in The Oakland Press: Husband of Beverley J.; father of Rose P Stevenson (Tom), Joseph V Felice, Susan M. Felice (Jon) and the late Paul M Felice Brother of Carmelina Calabrese, Jim Felice (Barb), Virginia Bernero (Giulio) and Betty Fortino Mr. Felice was the former president and co-owner of Felice Family Food Center. He became a partner in the business in 1946 along with his father Joseph and his brother Jim. Paul's involvement in civic community organizations has been both generous and diverse. Among them, past board member of the Michigan Grocer's Association, past-Chairman of the Oakland County Chamber of Commerce, past Vice-Chairman of the United Way Commercial Division, past member of the White House Council on Small Business, past Chairman of Community Programs, Inc. Member of the Navy League of the United States, Pontiac Police Athletic League, past President of the Civitan Club of Pontiac Elks, Eagles, Fraternal Order of Police Metro Pontiac Lodge #132, Order of the Sons of Italy, North Oakland Council of Campfire Boys/Girls Club, The Michigan State Chamber of Commerce and Secretary of the Waterford Economic Development Commission. Paul's main interest outside of his business was breeding and racing harness horses. He has been involved in Standardbred racing for over 50 years and has had a measure of success in both breeding and racing. His greatest accomplishment in the field was of breeding and racing 1981's three year old Trotter of the Year, "Banker Barker". Mr Felice was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church
