    PAUL J. KERNO JR. RETIRED PURCHASING AGENT, 56 Paul J. Kerno Jr., 56, of Lansdowne, a retired purchasing agent, died of heart failure Thursday at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby. Mr. Kerno retired in 1992 from General Electric Company in Moorestown, New Jersey, where had been a purchasing agent for five years. He previously was a purchasing agent for Technical Development Corporation in Glenolden for twelve years. He was born in Media and graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School and attended Temple University. Mr. Kerno had lived in Lansdowne for 22 years. He served as a lance corporal in Marine Corps communications in Washington and marched in President John F. Kennedy's funeral procession in 1963. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Gaiser Kerno; four children, Pamala, Stacey Hunter, Kathleen and Paul; and a grandson. A memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m. today at the M.F. Williams Funeral Home, Baltimore and Summit Avenues, Clifton Heights. Friends may call there after noon. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Township. The family suggests memorial contributions to Habitat for Humanity, Box 656, Chester, Pennsylvania. - The Philadelphia Inquirer (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) Saturday, October 18, 1997 on page 46.
